Projects
We develop policy studies, programme evaluations, capacity building and technical assistance projects. Our usual playing field is the EU, with considerable work at Union (EU27), transnational, cross-border, and national level in multiple EU countries. Our projects also cover EU enlargement and neighbourhood countries, especially in the Balkans and around the Mediterranean.
Regional development has always been our main focus. We have grown over the years to cover specific aspects such as indicators and financial instruments. We have also expanded to include territorial cooperation exploring how EU territories can learn from each other and jointly respond to common needs, and cross-border challenges in particular. We have always dedicated attention to the environmental impact of Regional development, such as to the link between local development and rural policy. At sectoral level, we have continuously investigated topics such as SMEs and Innovation. Special projects for the European Commission have included developing programme indicators, analysing simplified cost options and setting IT systems to monitor EU funds. In addition, we have been studying government mechanisms and governance solutions, especially in the institutional EU framework.
